To Harry Whitton, whose Old Mission Capital firm provides liquidity for ETF issuers, Ark’s success could bring about even more growth in the actively managed ETF space. “I like the Ark story. I’ve been following it for years,” Whitton said in the same “ETF Edge” interview.
The hunt for yield is on in full force. As investors clamor for income in an era of historically low interest rates, one part of the ETF market is reaping the benefits: bond funds. “More money has gone into bond funds than any other asset class in ETFs,” Harry Whitton, head of ETF sales and trading at Old Mission, told CNBC’s “ETF Edge” on Monday.
To accustom participants to the new technology, ICE ETF Hub will launch a pilot program allowing customers to test the custom basket negotiation in a live setting. Market makers including Jane Street, Old Mission, CTC, and others have already enrolled in the program and ICE ETF has said it expects others to follow in the coming months.
